How do I set up back-tap to log sets?

Back-tap lets you log the current set by double-tapping the back of your iPhone, without unlocking it.

  1. In Platelift, open Settings › Back-tap logging and add the "Log set" shortcut (one tap, the app sets it up).
  2. Open iPhone Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Back Tap.
  3. Choose Double Tap › Log set.
  4. Back in Platelift, use "Try it now" to check it works.

How do I log a workout on Apple Watch?
  1. Open Platelift on your Apple Watch and start today's workout.
  2. Turn the Digital Crown to adjust the load.
  3. Tap ✓ to log the set. On Apple Watch models that support the Double Tap gesture, you can also double-tap your index finger and thumb.
  4. The rest timer starts on its own and taps your wrist when it's time for the next set.

Sets appear on your iPhone almost instantly. If your iPhone isn't nearby, the watch keeps logging and syncs later. Your watch measures heart rate during the workout, so the calories you burn are added to Today's "Burned", and the workout is saved once to Apple Health. If heart rate isn't available (for example with a loose strap), Platelift shows an estimate instead.

Live Activities are turned off for Platelift. Turn them on in iPhone Settings › Platelift › Live Activities. Back-tap and Apple Watch keep working either way.

Food logging

Tips for better meal scans

Scans are AI estimates, so always check portions. There is a fair-use limit of 60 photo scans a day; describing and searching still work after that.

A barcode isn't recognised

We look barcodes up in our own food list and in Open Food Facts, an open, volunteer-built food database. If the product isn't there yet, you can scan the label, describe it, or add it manually.

Offline

Does Platelift work without internet?

Yes, for logging. Everything you log is saved on your iPhone first, and a banner on Today shows how many logs are waiting. They sync automatically when you're back online, so nothing is lost. Your workouts, plan and history work offline, and an active Pro subscription stays unlocked offline.

The AI features (photo scan, Describe a meal, Coach) and barcode lookup need a connection. A meal photo taken offline is kept on your phone so you can retry later. Coach messages that couldn't be sent show "Not sent · tap to retry".

Subscription

How do I restore my purchase?
  1. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID you used to subscribe.
  2. In Platelift, open Settings and tap Restore purchases. It can take a few seconds.

Still nothing? Email us and we'll sort it out.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Apple handles billing for Platelift Pro. Open iPhone Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Platelift Pro, or in Platelift tap Settings › Manage subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next year. If you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.

How much does Platelift Pro cost?

Platelift Pro is a yearly subscription at €59.99 per year (or your local App Store price). Some new subscribers are offered a discounted first year at €49.99 or €39.99; after the first year it renews at €59.99 per year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Full details are in the Terms.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.

My payment is waiting for approval

If Ask to Buy or your bank needs to approve the purchase, Pro unlocks automatically as soon as it's approved. You don't need to keep the app open.

Your data

How do I export my data?

Open Settings › Export my data. You get a .zip with everything we store about you (plan, workouts, sets, meals, water, weight, habits, Coach chats, subscription status and more), each as JSON and CSV. Body progress photos stay only on your iPhone and are not included. Export stays available even if your subscription has ended.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings › Delete account and confirm. Your plan, logs and chats are removed from our servers, and a confirmation is sent to your email. Want a copy first? Export your data before deleting.

Body progress photos live only on your iPhone: delete them from You › Body photos, or by deleting the app. Your App Store subscription is separate, so cancel it with Apple so you are not charged again.

Can't open the app? Email support@platelift.online from the address linked to your account and we'll delete it for you.

Is my Apple Health data shared?

No. Apple Health data is read on your iPhone and Apple Watch to count the calories you burn. We never sell it and never use it for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Health and safety

Is Platelift medical advice?

No. Platelift is not medical advice and not a medical device. It is for people aged 16 and over. Talk to a doctor before big changes to your training or diet. The Coach won't answer medical, medication or eating-disorder questions; it points you to professional help instead. In an emergency, call 112 (EU) or your local emergency number.
